Looks like I am getting behind in the news! Metro SE division has officially on the FFV website fixtures have dropped to nine teams from thirteen only weeks ago. Cardinia United, East Bentleigh, Dandenong Warriors and surprisingly Old Haileybury have all disappeared. Perhaps some may make their appearance in the thirds divisions. This has meant that the fixtures were required to be reworked with Endeavour Hills now with a bye in the first round.
Received great feedback from Seaford United about metro club Parkmore Soccer Club. Seaford United last weekend travelled to the Metro SE club Parkmore for a round 2 fixture in the State Knockout Cup. A few years back Parkmore ground was terrible, just weeds seemed to cover the ground. Now the pitch – I have been told – is in top nick after it had been relayed. Also the clubrooms are regarded as exceptional along with 500ml imported Hungarian Beer at only $6. You can find some great photos from the reserves match here.
Kialla United has pulled out of their State Knockout Cup second round match against Twin City Wanderers, given Twin City Wanderers a bye to the next round. The Cobram v Cobram Victory match has now been set to be played at John McEwen Reserve in Shepparton with a 01:00 KO in what is now a double header with that match preceding the Shepparton v Wodonga Diamonds match at 04:00.
I plan to cover the State Knockout Cup match between Seaford Untied and Berwick City along with two matches from the James Verlander Charity Shield on Sunday. At the moment trying to catch up with the ACL matches on my Foxtel IQ. Good to see A-League clubs competitive this season.
