What a week it was. As you can clearly see the website is very empty, a result of requiring starting over again, an action that was necessary after my backups failed to restore my website before it was maliciously attacked. This has rather deflated me and motivation to get this back and running is just a little low. Anyhow, the show must go on.
Good to see the Frankston Pines put up a good fight last Friday against a good Old Melburnians side. Only three weeks ago there were grave concerns that the Pines may not even be able to field two teams that are required, a stunning revelation from a club that was a powerhouse in the peninsula region only a few years ago. For the rest of the season the Pines will not be played on Friday nights, or not even Saturday nights, but will revert back to Saturday afternoon. You can see also that the poor run of results by the Pines over the years has impacted the attendance, with perhaps 75-100 in attendance. But still many of those stayed back which the club would have be grateful for.
I hear that the Riversdale keeper was the goalscorer in their opening league match against Warragul United. With the assistance of the wind the keeper lob one passed his counterpart. Great start for the promoted Riversdale team.
Not too many thrashing in the opening rounds. The biggest one I can see belongs to Hoopers Crossing 7 – 1 win over Plenty Valley Lions in the Provisional 2 NW while Ringwood City’s reintroduction to the Provisional 3 SE was greeted with a 6 – 2 loss to Whitehorse United.
Hooray! I made the front cover of the recent Seaford United match program from this past weekend when they hosted Boroondara Eagles. Now I only need to get down there and pick up a copy! Seriously, thanks as always to Seaford for their continued promotion of this website, even after the last match I recorded they would rather I did not put up! This website has grown over the past four years largely because of word of mouth and the great feedback I receive, thankyou to all.
The two maches recorded from last weekend were...
- Provisional LEague 1 SE - Franskton Pines v Old Melburnians
- Bayside FA Premier - Boronia Knights v Montrose (up soon)
